A report is a call to listen.
These figures help make institutional responses visible. A report describes alleged conduct; a disciplinary finding concerns university policy; a guilty verdict comes from a court. More reports can reflect more harm, greater trust in reporting, or different definitions. These counts cannot rank campus safety.

Title IX reports · sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and stalking
Multi-year total reported by journalists from state data. It is not an annual rape count, not every experience of harm, and not a count of the current Chi Phi case.
2018–2024 aggregate, as reported by Inside Higher Ed from USA TODAY’s analysis of New York state data. The underlying state rows and USA TODAY article were not independently retrieved. This is attributed reporting, not our own audit. Reports include sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and stalking; they are not all rape allegations.

READ THE NUMBERS FAIRLY
What does “solved” mean?
There is no verified university-wide “solved cases” total in this collection. We show the outcome actually published: responsibility finding, no finding, informal resolution, withdrawal, dismissal, administrative closure or pending case.
A closure is not proof that a claim was false. A no-responsibility finding is not a criminal acquittal, and a responsibility finding is not a conviction. Reports and outcomes often involve different years or people; dividing one by the other can produce a misleading success rate.
Clery reports
Reported offenses within specified campus geography. On-campus totals already include residences; adding the housing subset would double-count. Off-campus experiences outside Clery geography may be excluded. Reporting years need not be incident years. U.S. Department of Education ↗
Disclosures, complaints and outcomes
A disclosure can seek support without an investigation. Formal complaints, cases, allegations and respondent files count different units. An incident can produce several allegations or involve several respondents. Published findings may still be subject to appeal.
Survey experiences
Survey percentages describe responses within a defined population and timeframe. They are not complaint counts. Response patterns, questionnaire wording and weighting affect estimates; do not apply a subgroup percentage to total enrollment.
Missing data and national coverage
Unavailable is different from zero. This is a selected collection, not a census of every U.S. university or every field in every report. Linked reports contain additional tables. No private submissions or identifiable case details enter these statistics.
Most sources are university publications. Cornell’s broader 2018–2024 totals are explicitly labeled reported analysis; the underlying state rows were not independently retrieved. Source types, retrieval limits and older periods remain visible. These sources do not measure every experience of harm or establish that an institutional response was adequate.

Different questions use different populations and tactics; percentages are not formal reports or enrollment-wide victim counts.
Cornell · Presidential Task Force final report, March 2026 ↗ Institutional task-force synthesis of survey results and recommendations. Historical survey percentages describe experiences since enrollment, not annual incidence. The 2025 survey explicitly added unwanted choking/strangulation. Figure 6a in the survey overview labels undergraduate women’s 2023 rate 20%, while its prose and this task-force Table 1 give 23%; historical values here use Table 1 and disclose that discrepancy.
Cornell · Formal Complaints ↗ Latest section retrieved: AY 2023–24. Policy 6.4 covers additional discrimination and harassment categories; the overall total is broader than sexual misconduct.
Brown University
Older report counts, complaint outcomes and pending matters.

UC Berkeley · FY25 case closures ↗ Resolution-year cohort across protected-category discrimination and harassment. It differs from the incoming FY25 report cohort. Closure does not establish falsity.
UC Berkeley · FY25 completed investigations ↗ The prose distinguishes 49 completed investigations from four administratively closed investigations. A figure heading says opened, but the data here follows the completed-investigation prose. Different policy categories remain separate.
UC Berkeley · FY25 final adjudications ↗ Adjudication-year cohort; not the same cases as investigations completed in FY25. Joint-policy matters are kept separate.
Northwestern University
Recent sexual-misconduct reports, employee allegations and student outcomes across office policies.

The office includes discrimination/harassment beyond sexual misconduct. Cases with over three records were limited to three for analysis. Student findings cover all relevant policies, not solely sexual misconduct.
Duke University
Older broad OIE reports, investigations, outcomes and sanctions; not sexual-assault-only counts.
Duke · OIE Annual Report, FY 2023–24 ↗ July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024. These are ALL OIE discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation and related concerns across the university and health system, not sexual-assault totals. Sanction percentages refer to policy-violation cases. The source’s later education section refers to a different year and is not transcribed.
University of Maryland, College Park
Recent sexual-misconduct reports, formal complaints, outcomes, sanctions and support.
Maryland, College Park · FY 2024–25 sexual misconduct report ↗ July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025. Conduct categories can overlap. Outcome counts transcribed from the 23-row current-year table are editorial counts, not university-published aggregate clearance rates. Mixed findings count as responsible for at least one allegation. The source gives conflicting overall supportive-measure totals (346/364); those totals are omitted.
University of Tennessee, Knoxville
Eleven-year sexual-misconduct report trend, student pathways and employee outcomes.
Tennessee, Knoxville · 2025 Title IX annual data ↗ Calendar 2025. Confidential-resource reports excluded. Student prohibited-conduct totals exclude identified unaffiliated respondents. Concerns include issues beyond prohibited conduct. The resolution table includes reopened 2024 reports; its 161 total differs from 159 new reports and is not a clearance-rate denominator. The prose says two pending cases while the table gives one; the collection uses the table with this discrepancy disclosed.
University of Texas at Austin
Employee report channels and grievance findings; confidential reports can overlap.
UT Austin · AY 2024–25 CEO report executive summary ↗ August 26, 2024–August 24, 2025; grievance status September 15, 2025. Employee reporting under Texas Education Code §51.252. Published FY24–25 institution label; sexual-misconduct subset and all-policy office outcomes.
UT San Antonio · FY 2024–25 EOS annual data ↗ Issued February 9, 2026 under the institution’s published name for this reporting period. Overall outcomes include non-sexual discrimination and out-of-scope reports. The 325 sexual harassment/misconduct category includes dating/domestic violence, stalking, exploitation and failure-to-report cases. “Unsubstantiated” must not be treated as a formal not-responsible finding.

Occidental · Civil Rights & Title IX Annual Report, 2024–25 ↗ August 1, 2024–July 31, 2025. Reports include non-sexual discrimination/harassment. Sexual-misconduct subset only. 221 cases concern 234 current-period respondents; Table 3 includes two prior-period respondents (236 total). Its pending-pathway entry is 12, versus 10 cases in Table 4’s footnote. Table 5 is headed respondents but totals 26, while prose gives 26 cases/27 respondents; no missing outcome is inferred.
Colorado Boulder · FY 2025–26 Employee Respondent Report ↗ July 2025–June 2026; dated August 1, 2026. Sexual-misconduct subset: 101 cases, 107 employee/affiliated respondents and 120 allegations. These units differ. The formal-grievance narrative describes dismissal, ongoing processes and a pending appeal; it does not establish completed findings for all respondents.
Colorado Boulder · FY 2025–26 Support and Safety Measures Report ↗ July 2025–June 2026; dated August 1, 2026. Office-wide support across OIEC policies, not a sexual-misconduct-only cohort. Measures are not counts of people or findings; interim safety measures are not final disciplinary sanctions.
