POLICIES & READER HELP

A place to be heard.
A responsibility to be careful.

Community guidelines for stories, encouragement, harmful-comment reports and legal-support requests.

Start with choice and care

You may request private review without permitting public sharing. For Jane Doe stories, choose private email follow-up or no-email mode. You can use broad university context and an approximate decade, and stop when you need to. We do not require graphic detail or a public name.

Reader accounts are personal experiences, not news findings. We welcome experiences from every university and era. Published summaries remain separate from source-led case reporting.

Give reviewers useful context

Explain what happened in your own words, how you know, approximately when it happened and what support or response you needed. Separate firsthand knowledge from information shared by someone else. Say when you are uncertain. Do not fill gaps with speculation.

For harmful comments, provide the surrounding context and date privately, not just an isolated sentence. Private messages need the relevant sharing permission. Public summaries exclude handles, identifying links, avatars and private-message screenshots. A disagreement alone is not proof of harassment.

Protect people’s identities

Leave out precise locations, private workplaces, contact information and names of other survivors. Do not identify a person through a combination of otherwise ordinary details. Kinship is not evidence of culpability. The walls are not a tool for naming relatives or directing pressure at private people.

Staff may use an approved contextual image with a fixed caption and credit after checking its relevance. No reader-uploaded image or screenshot is accepted through the current forms. Original illustrations represent ideas, not actual people or events.

A human publishing decision

  1. An accepted submission creates a private ticket.
  2. A reviewer checks context, consent, relevance and privacy.
  3. The original remains separate from the edited draft.
  4. Any proposed image is checked for caption, attribution and identifying details.
  5. Publication requires a human’s explicit approval and your sharing consent.

No AI model approves or removes community posts. We preserve responsibly sourced reporting, relevant responses and dated corrections. We may decline, redact or remove content to protect privacy, honor withdrawal or address unsupported claims, threats or factual errors.

Clarification and reconsideration

Keep your reference and private key to see review status and an explanation written for you. If you want to question a decision or offer clarification, contact the collective privately. Give only the reference if useful; never send your private key in a message. Contact inquiries create their own tickets.

Financial support, sponsorship and merchandise interest do not improve the chance of publication. We do not promise a decision deadline. An account can remain private, and consent can be withdrawn through the receipt-based channel.

A question about this policy?

Use the contact directory for a privacy question, correction, accessibility issue or general suggestion. Every accepted contact request creates a private ticket for human review. Do not include confidential case documents.
