On 14 February 2014, DOJ reported substantial evidence of gender bias in the Missoula County Attorney’s Office’s handling of sexual-assault cases. Its findings described disrespectful treatment of women reporting assaults and poor communication about case progress.
On 10 June 2014, DOJ announced a resolution agreement requiring changes to training, treatment of reporters, communication and case tracking. Both the findings and the subsequent agreement belong in the record.
Historical DOJ findings and the subsequent resolution are attributed to the agency. This is not a reader-submitted social-media comment or a finding about current office staff.
